The ‘Mellow Sounds and System Dub’ t shirt was first produced by bloodsweatandtees in 2009 as a personal tribute to the highly collectable silk screen cover, Jamaican released Studio 1 Dub albums produced by the mighty Sir Clement Seymour Coxsone ‘Downbeat the Ruler’ Dodd that London Roots and Culture Cats were hunting high and low, (due in part to their mythical status), throughout the 1980’s at a time when searching/digging for and collecting records exploded across the UK.

The REMIXED 2026 ‘Mellow Sounds’ is now available in new print colours, garment styles and extended sizes, printed ON DEMAND in England on premium quality, Cotton (Organic available) Apparel using:

DTG (Direct To Garment) water based, non toxic ink and sustainable, production methods.

The LP that inspired this t Shirt featured instrumental/dub versions of some Classic Studio 1 material such as:

The Wailers ‘Cry To Me’, Horace Andy's ‘Just Say Who’ and ‘Where Do the Children Play’, Burning Spears killer ‘Creation Rebel’ and 'Pick Up the Pieces' Slim Smiths’ ‘Rougher Yet’, and the Heptones rocksteady/reggae hit ‘Pretty Looks’.

Released by Clement ‘Sir Coxson’ Dodd’s MIGHTY Studio 1, (and some say MIXED down by the man himself), between 1974 - 1980 when Dub was still big in Jamaica due in part to a 1972 law passed restricting the price a producer like Dodd could sell a ‘pre’ release for resulting in a breakdown and reset of Jamaica’s music industry.

The MAJESTIC rhythms laid down at ‘Downbeats’ Studio 1 during the late 1960‘s and early 1970‘s featured the cream of Jamaicas musical dons and went on to form the backbone of Jamaican music for many years and Sir Coxsons Dub albums Mellow Sounds is one of the best.
