Sir Coxson Downbeat @bloodsweatandtees

First in a series of Studio 1 mixups from the bloodsweatandtees vaults.

The downbeat journey began as a Youngblood on the streets, hills and roads of South East London in 1983 having been raised on a diet of Soul, Funk, Reggae and New Wave throughout the turbulent 1970’s.

Collecting vinyl was a family obsession and finding ‘Red and Whites’, ‘Blue Coxsons’, Islands and later Ackees and even Supreme 45’s led to hunting continuously for any black gold with ‘C.S Dodd’ on the label. Studio 1 will always wear the crown for bloodsweatandtees as it was the gateway to discovering the sweet, roots and heavyweight sounds of Jamaica.

“No matter what the people say, these sounds lead the way, its the order of the day from your boss DJ” (King Stitt)
